Eastern District Office -Structure and Functions

Eastern District Office was set up by Taiwan’s government on January 15, 1977 for the exploitation of the mineral resources and to boost the economy in eastern Taiwan. Our office is in charge of the mining affairs and mine inspections in Hualien County and Taitung County. We have currently 21 staff members. The current director in the office is Mrs. Luo. The office is divided into 2 sections and the functions are as follows:

Section 1
Eastern District Office is responsible for the applications in Hualien and Taitung County. The applications are as follows: management of mine administration, mineral right establishment, mineral right registration, mining land approval, management of basic mineral concession diagram, mining policy implementation, mineral concession exploration, Reduplication check of hillside exploitation and mineral concession, levy of mine concession fee and other functions like Documentation, Cashier, Research & Evaluation, Archives, Accounting, Civil Service Ethics and Personnel, etc.
