  • ☉ How to manage and prevent illegal mining and quarrying?(2019/09/05)

    1. When mining work is considered to be detrimental to mining safety and public interests, the agency shall instruct the mineral right holder to take remedial measures within a designated period time, or suspend the work temporarily according to “Mining Safety Act” and article 57 of “Mining Act”. If the mineral right holder fails to complete the remedial measure without a rational reason, or does not suspend the work temporarily, the governing agency may revoke the approval of the mineral right.
    2. The governing agency should strengthen the promotion of mining safety to the mineral operations personnel, perform periodic mine safety inspection and supervise them mining in the approved mineral concession according to the annual construction plan.
    3. The governing agency would use the high-resolution unmanned aerial vehicle to monitor the mining area. Through the comparison of the before and after aerial photographs, and cooperation with local government inspectors, the agency will determine whether it is “illegal mining and quarrying”.
    4. If illegal mining or quarrying has revealed by the public or media, the governing agency immediately dispatch representatives to deal with the situations.
